CloudConf 2020

I am honoured to be back at CloudConf , but this time virtually. Last year the conference took place in Turin, Italy. It was truly an amazing experience to meet with 2000+ developers from different parts of Italy.

This year, I’ll be delivering the keynote on my favourite topic - Edge Computing. I’ll be explaining how to take advantage of Kubernetes with OpenShift to harness the power of machine learning.
Cloud Native design allows the application to be broken down into multiple containerised microservices based on business functionalities. Therefore, data-intensive applications with heavy machine learning algorithms can be broken down into several parts. That will ultimately result in an architecture where workload can be shifted across on-premise and public clouds for training and inferring machine learning models in a hybrid model. In such scenarios, models can be trained in a public cloud, whereas inference could take place on the edge device in the field.
