DevNexus 2020
This week IBM Developer team is in beautiful Atlanta, Georgia. DevNexus , now being the largest Java conference in North America, is happening at the Georgia World Congress Center 19-21 February.
Before the conference kicks off, we have organised a brainstorming session between IBM and Red Hat developer advocacy teams. This is to firstly plan our upcoming engagements on topics ranging from OpenShift to Quarkus with the support of our colleagues at Red Hat, and later to discuss creating new contents to make it easier for our developer communities to access our open source offerings.
We are excited to be the Unobtanium sponsor at the DevNexus conference, and we look forward to connecting with thousands of developers to explore the impact Java is having on technology of all kinds, especially in the area of Cloud-Native application development and deployment. We’ve got a nice booth with some demos and QuickLabs to provide our visitors with hands-on experience of the Java-based technologies and IBM Cloud.
Our team will be delivering sessions on new and relevant topics, providing hands-on experience in workshop. Check out the full schedule for the workshops and talks by IBM developer advocates. I’ve got session on “Large Scale Distributed AI using JVM” on Friday at 3:30pm.
Georgia World Congress Center is across the road from CNN studios and a short walk from the Georgia Aquarium, where we were invited for dinner by the conference.
Java One used to be the No.1 event for Java loyalists from all around the world. DevNexus however, has proven to be the new Java One with so many advantages for the communities, in terms of its open governance and focus on the complementary technologies rather than vendor-specific offerings.
I’ve met many friends and former colleagues at the conference this week, and it’s certainly great to see how Java has been progressing on all aspects within the developer communities.
